Project 1: Teach Someone Something

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Translate one topic from it's space on the pages The Dangerous Book for Boys or The Daring Book for Girls to an engaging learning experience that facilitates the understanding of your chosen topic.

CONTENT
Content will be taken directly from The Dangerous Book for Boys or The Daring Book for Girls. They are both guidebooks published by Harper Collins, aimed at boys/girls "from eight to eighty." Each covers around eighty topics, from building a tree house to catching rabbits and how to understand girls.

Some reviewers have criticized it for encouraging its young readers to injure themselves, but others have praised it for helping to counter the "Playstation Culture". Within the first week of its US publication on May 1, 2007, it reached number two on the Amazon.com best selling book lists, being outsold only by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

You must choose content from one of the books. You may add original or found photographs and/or illustrations. But this is not an illustration class! The most important thing is the type. The verbal content. And how you present it. You will be creating a poster or booklet or flashcards. More information will be given next week.

FORMATS/SIZES
You will explore and decide which of 1 the 3 formats work best for your design.

Poster:
18in x 24in Front and Back. Folded to 9in x 12in.

Booklet:
8 page booklet, 5 x 8in
Front + back cover + 3 spreads. You can have 8 pages or 12 pages but not 10 pages. Multiple of 4.

Flashcards:
Set of 12 flash cards. 4 x 6in. You can have more but not less than 12.
