If you want to get a heads start over break or just want to look at cool stuff...none are required, and all would be too much so chose one that drives you.

-- explore the web and all the blogs and insights, readings, visuals, videos. (links listed on the left) and/or go through the journal and get a heads start. if you do please email me so I can comment so you will not have to do it again during the semester.

-- projects are linked at the top of the page. you can read what we will be doing, collect what you think you could use, go through the journal and experience some of those links/readings/videos. *i will be working on the projects over break so be aware that the projects are set but parts are subject to change.

-- font spec book: if you have all these fonts on your computer make a type spec sheet and print them all off so you know what they look like... Font spec sheet has the alphabet, numbers and punc, all caps, lowercase, small caps, and a bit of text: 30 characters wide 8/12. Print the pages and save them as a pdf for quick reference. Here is an example. I can email you the illustrator doc if you would like to use it or you can create your own. Or you can print this out and "study" the fonts. Characteristics, who designed them... Font Comparison Sheet.
