Design does not happen in a vacuum. Clear verbal skills are all important in communicating your ideas to clients and design team members. For all critiques, students are expected to come prepared to present their concepts, discuss how the form of their design supports their concept, and describe how they arrived at their ideas. Providing comment to your peers is a privilege. You will benefit from both giving and receiving feedback—you do not have to "like" another's work, but you must provide insightful commentary in a courteous and productive manner.

font design/character development.
The most important part of this project is finding your MUSE (thanks Audrey for the phase). You need to have some design objectives/ or parameters other wise you will flop around with out being able to make decisions.

Is it based on a project that you have already done and think a custom font would be a great addition? You already have the audience, mood, emotion established.

Step 1:
Research and looking for your MUSE (links on the left). Develop a mood board on pinterest. Develop a color palette. Looking at the list above 1 - 3 develop clear design parameters Step 2: Sketch, more sketches, a lot of sketches Step 3: refine sketches, scan, start drawing in FontLab Step 4: Get entire character set (upper case or lowercase) into FontLab Step 5: put your font in a context: a series of posters, product or specimen book.

Final deliverable
__ Full upper or lowercase, key punctuation . : ? ! & @ * or numbers
__ Font in context: poster series, product or specimen book
__ Process and final printed out and posted on behance
